I assume rural towns will all end as Starnesvilles as described by Ayn Rand, in Atlas Shrugged.
The Executive Order is a horror, it seems to me to epitomise what rural communities, across the world and down the centuries have, usually rightly, feared from city dwellers!
One is unavoidably reminded of the suppression of the Kulaks. This, of course, worked really well in Russia…
Did anyone ask for this Rural Council to be established? from past experience, once a bureaucracy is in place it’s virtually impossible to get rid of it.
Spot on!

Well, it is possible to get rid, but it’s often a bit violent…
Good links – thanks. The increasing scope of Agenda 21 has a lot to do with it too – like our H&S they dictate policies for farmland, allotments, home-grown food amongst other things. Control, control, control.
Now the government is taking over the food production part then the US is indeed screwed. The government screws up everything it touches.
You can look forward to famine and high food prices courtesy of the state.
You will notice that the “Council” is appointed, what happens in America, after a short period of time, happens here.
In the UK Local Government will, under “LOCALISM”, give way to the quangos, agencies, partnerships, trusts and all the other unelected and unaccountable bodies that serve the Common Purpose, post democracy plan. When all that is in place Parliament will give way to Brussels.
Of course, I could be wrong.
