Pupils at Southbroom Infants School in Devizes were astonished to turn up at school to find police had cordoned off their classrooms.
They were even more amazed when they were told an alien spacecraft had crashed there and officers needed their help to trace the captain of the extraterrestrial ship.
*sigh*
Not again?
I suppose one saving grace is that at least, real police were’t involved this time.
PC Adam Hall, manager of the Devizes neighbourhood policing team, said this was an example of the kind of school liaison exercise Wiltshire Police had been carrying out for some years.“It helps to create a positive image of the emergency services with young children and to show them that people in uniform are there to help them and not to be afraid of.”
And preparing us all for the eventual arrival of our alien overlords?

I suppose saying lunatics are running the asylum has become a tired cliche, so maybe having aliens in charge describes the gap between the sensible and the actual behaviour of our overlords is illuminating.
/slams head violently into desk over and over and over and…
Have you finished yet?
As psychological experiments go you’ve got to wonder at the Fear factor in response so let’s imagine the situation slightly reversed…
A PCSO turns up alone at the police station to find a 300 scared and angry secondary school pupils have cordoned off the building screaming at them that an alien spacecraft has crashed there and demand they go in unarmed and without back-up to catch the captain of the extraterrestrial ship.
Somehow, I don’t think that would end well.
I’d PAY to see that!
This is supposed to engender respect for law and order? Perhaps subbing out the whole UK Policing business to G45 isn’t such a bad idea after all.
What do you mean ‘arrival’? I think you’ll find our alien overlords have been here for some time. Is this story not proof enough?
Good point!
I, for one, welcome our new lizard overlords.
War of the worlds anyone?
Or Fortean Times?
