Longrider and I are holding the fort at the moment, the others should be in later.
A question of comments came up. We have a policy you will see in our sidebar but there’s an addition now. We’ve tentatively set it at 14 days [it can alter if the other two feel strongly enough or if enough of you do] and comments older than that do not automatically go up.
This is common with WordPress and the reasoning is that, as we are a current day site, i.e. we deal with issues of the day or of interest on the day, it would need to be something exceptional to switch the mechanism off to publish a specific comment on something long gone.
To do so would take getting the four of us together to agree and that’s fraught as spammers generally target old posts and so we’d have to take each comment on an individual basis. Frankly, none of us have the time, nor could be a***ed doing that.
So that’s our policy, guys, until something occurs to alter it. Hope you’ll understand.

Since you’re doing some ‘housekeeping’ my laptop screen could do with a clean – when can I expect you?
You couldn’t afford us
There you go Dave, this should do it

Sorry Chuckles but ‘that’ is not a dog…… ‘that’ was a bug-eyed maggot. Still, it did the job – thanks
Since you are doing housekeeping could something be done about making the site more robust or at least use cloudflare in the way it is intended – I’ve had the cloudflare page several times this past week and it never gives a snapshot so why use it?
Talk about it – I’ve had it too and many others. I have advised our techie and am in his hands about fixing it at this stage.
