Denis MacShane Totalitarian

If Theresa May means what she says, it will be one small step in the direction of liberty.

The government plans to exercise its right to opt out of 130 EU measures on law and order, Home Secretary Theresa May is set to tell MPs later.

She is expected to say control will return to the UK in two years under an opt-out agreed by the last government during Lisbon Treaty negotiations.

It would mean opting out of the European Arrest Warrant, which the Lib Dems supported at the last election.

Reasonable, rational liberal people will be saying to this, “thank fuck for that”. The EU arrest warrant is an abomination. Unless, of course, you are that nasty apologist for totalitarianism, Denis MacShane.

Theresa May wants to abolish the European arrest warrant – an ostentatious gesture of EU hostility that would do much harm.

On the contrary, it will mean no repeat of the absurd arrests of UK citizens on evidence-free whims of European prosecutors such as the Portuguese one a year or so back.

Terrorists, traffickers, and child abductors can only welcome Tory efforts to abolish the European arrest warrant (EAW) and decrease, rather than step up, EU justice and police co-operation.

As will those who have been wrongfully arrested under this evil abomination.

Oh, yes, sure, MacShane mentions examples where it has been used to detain terrorists on the run, but, frankly, it is better the occasional terrorist using the legal loopholes of a foreign regime to escape justice in this country than having innocent men and women arrested and imprisoned by a foreign power with a legal system less rigorous than even our own porous example.

May is right, this scourge must go –  and, frankly, the rest of the rotting edifice from which it emanated.

That MacShane is in favour of such totalitarianism should come as no surprise. This charlatan would have had us all tagged and our every day lives monitored under the Labour ID card scheme of which he was an unashamed apologist. The man is a monster.

Below the line, the unthinking numpties of CiF clap MacShane like seals waiting for a handful of fish. An example:

And most of the crazies that want us to opt out, are just as crazy for us to bend over and take it some more from the US.

Well, actually, no. Those of us who oppose the EUAW also oppose the unequal extradition arrangements between the UK and USA, unlike the Labour government of which MacShane was a part who implemented this wickedness. Still, don’t let reality get in the way of your ideological fantasies. What is amusing is the CiF crowd accusing others of being crazies. Do they have no self awareness at all?

Yeah, yeah, I know… Rhetorical question.

Firstly, I don’t trust May . There are a lot of pacifiers coming from government announcements at the moment which don’t amount to much. The whole thing has a disingenuous feel to it. McShane and May know full well that if the EAW went then a bilateral extradition agreement would replace it, hopefully it would restore the right to an open court hearing to establish the merit of the extradition request even for suspected traffickers, terrorists and child abductors.

      I did qualify my approval.

Duly noted. Not my intention to suggest otherwise.

I doubt they either could or have any real wish to repeal any of these EU Statutes.

Dennis Macshane, right honourable member for Rotherham…. talks about terrorists, traffickers and child abductors.

    Right MacShame,
1/ was it not your party who opened the doors to mass immigration from backward flea bitten lands in the ‘goat belt’?
2/ Indeed, isn’t it the case that Rotherham is home to a nest of Pakistani child molesters and exploitative sex abusers and all from said boondocks [see above]?
3/ Which, ethnic group is the main terrorist threat in Britain?

MacShane is a Socialist piggy porker, slurping and chomping, down at the taxpayer trough. He is, a fully paid up member of the social engineers shampoo quaffing, hypocrisy brigade – blind to the problems – all of their own creation – and how cosily convenient is that.

The other day, we had Yvette Balls complaining over the closure of her local courthouse – a policy of closures enabled by her own political party, of which she was a cabinet member – do they think we’ve all forgotten?

I wish I had thought of Bullshit Mountain first, anyway they don’t mean it just clap-trap, verbal fog in case we ask— what happened to the Chilcott Inquiry?.

Opting out wouldn’t be so bad except for the fact that we can ‘opt right back IN’ at any time in the future i.e. as soon as it’s convenient for the presiding government – not us…….

As TR said – you can’t trust May … or at least … the EU controlled cabinet.
