cameron's cronies

Er … anything actually wrong with that? Every PM does it.

On the other hand, they are the lowest of the lows getting the gongs.

I reckon old Will got it about tied when he wrote:-

“All that glisters is not gold; /
Often have you heard that told. /
Many a man his life hath sold /
But my outside to behold. /
    Gilded tombs do worms enfold.”

Especially the bit about the ‘worms’. Seems as though Shakespeare recognised that politicians never, ever, change!

It rather highlights that it is time to remove ministerial patronage. Such people do not represent the will of the majority and are simply cronies. They will actively oppose the will of the people and have done nothing to earn these honours.

The ability to bestow honours should be revoked.
